Tothill's Mazes is situated at 493 Shands Road, Hornby and features a seasonal corn maze (January to April), Christchurch's only wooden maze and a lawn labyrinth. Come for a picnic, a coffee or just bring the kids for a great day out.

Maize Maze

Our 2013 "Who Killed the Moa" maize maze has finished for this year.  Over the winter months the land will be prepared in anticipation of the planting of maize ready for the 2014 maize maze which will open just after Christmas.  Watch this space!

Wooden Maze

The wooden maze at Tothill's Mazes features the Kiwiana Hunt. The object is to find cards hidden throughout the maze depicting New Zealand icons. In navigating our wooden maze you will come to four themed corners and exit via the central tower.  A must-see for locals and visitors alike. Open year round.

Other Games and Activities

Our lawn labyrinth is a traditional labyrinth, perfect for children to run around while their parents enjoy a cup of coffee. Traditionally used for meditation, turf labyrinths have intrigued people for generations.

Petanque, balls and sporting equipment are available for your use. We also have puzzles for you to try in the shop.

Birthday Parties

Tothill's Mazes is the ideal location for your child's birthday party.  We have so much space for children to run around and be entertained in one or both of our mazes.  You can bring your own food/drinks and birthday cake and set up a lovely picnic.  We will reserve a table for you and we have bbq's available for you to use if you wished to do a sausage sizzle.  We do great coffee, so when the children are in the maze you can grab a coffee and relax knowing the children are having a fantastic, fun time.  The birthday child receives a birthday present from Tothill's Mazes.  Come to Tothill's Mazes for a genuinely fun, fuss-free birthday party!
